Los Arcos to Sansol July 12, 2015, 7.6 km 11,270 steps
We got up this morning and went downstairs to a wonderful breakfast that included hard boiled eggs and homemade coffee cake. We ate leisurely and then packed up to go.
Last night one of the Irish lads came in very late, well after the 22:00 closing the door time. We tried to figure out this morning how he got in after the door was locked. The other lad had joked yesterday afternoon that they had already figured out how to climb up to our second story room.
As we left this morning we looked up at the window to our room and knew there was no way he climbed up the wall. It will remain a mystery. Pilgrims were supposed to be out at 8 am, but when we left at 7:30 am, the lads were still asleep. Funny boys.
It's weird how when the landscape flattens out distance perception changes. The town looks close, then far away, then closer. It is a tease. It only took us three hours to get here, so we had to wait for the Albergue to open. Albergue Sansol is really nice. It is 95 degrees with 33% humidity at 4 pm. It is supposed to be hotter tomorrow.
This afternoon a group of young people (teens) came in and they looked wiped out from the heat. They have perked up now after showers and a soak in the foot bath. It's nice having young people around.
